Why Should Dogs Stay Out Of The Swimming Pool?
Your swimming pool is one of the best spots for enjoyable family time and family also includes pets like dogs. These fluffy creatures are known as man’s best friend and love to be part of the fun. However, it is not very safe to allow a pet, especially a dog, in your pool. As a pet owner himself, SunBoy is against letting dogs in a swimming pool. These are a few reasons why it is not recommended.
1. Not All Dogs Can Swim
It’s wrong to assume that all dogs can swim. Some breeds such as bulldogs, pugs and boxers are not natural swimmers and you’re actually putting them at risk of drowning if you let them in a swimming pool. At times they may not be able to figure out how to get out of the pool.
2. More Bacteria In The Pool
We all know this. Dogs are not the cleanest of pets. They’re hairy and shred easily at times, they roll in the soil, on the grass and dash through bushes, etc. Dirt, pollen, insects, fecal matter and so on will get stuck to their fur. All these things will get in the pool if you allow your dog to enter it and contaminate the water. This can put you and anyone using the swimming pool to be exposed to more germs and bacteria which can cause severe infections and illnesses.
3. Your Dog’s Health Is At Risk
Chlorine and other chemicals can be harmful and toxic to pets especially if ingested and it’s going to be very difficult for you to control your dog so that he does not swallow the water. Chlorine can cause skin irritation, redness and flaking even for dogs. The chemicals used can cause severe issues like ulcers in the mouth or throat, nausea, esophageal damage, etc. if swallowed by your pets.
